Participants in The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon must be 18 years or older on race day.
Is it ok to walk round the course?
Our events are intended 'For All' and we encourage participants of all abilities to get involved. The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon will have a 7-hour cut-off time for completion of the course.
Anyone deemed not able to finish the course within 7 hours will unfortunately be unable to continue on the course and a sweeper vehicle will be in operation.
I am a wheelchair user and/or have specific access requirements, what should I do?
Please let us know of any specific access requirements in order for us to make suitable arrangements ahead of the event. Email us using the contact us form.
Please be aware that if you are being escorted around the course, your escort must also be a registered participant in the event.
How can I raise money for charity?
The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon is proud to be partnered with ten charities both national and local to the event. Information about our partner charities and the great work they do can be found in the Partners section. Please contact the charity of your choice directly with any fundraising queries.
Can I raise money for a charity or cause not listed as an event partner?
Yes, we encourage all participants to fundraise for the charity or cause of their choice. Just contact your chosen charity directly to request a fundraising pack or with any queries.
Can I take part in fancy dress?
Yes, our events are all about having fun and encouraging people to enjoy taking part in sporting events whether they are a regular club runner, completing a challenge or using it to raise money for charity. We welcome participants to use their imagination when it comes to fancy dress but please ensure your costume does not pose any danger or could be perceived as being offensive to other participants or spectators.
Fancy dress should not impede your capacity to complete the event within the 7 hour time limit.
Can I take part on a bike, roller skates or something similar?
No entries are permissible for participants on bikes, roller skates, in pushchairs or any kind of mechanical aid.
Can I run with a dog?
No animals are allowed on course, with the exception of assistance dogs. If you are to be accompanied by an assistance dog, please contact us in order for suitable arrangements to be made ahead of the event.
How do I know if I have a place?
Confirmation messages are automatically generated by the online system once you have completed the registration process and paid for your place. Please check your email spam folder and add us to your contact list to ensure you receive important event information. Contact us with any queries.
My details have changed since I registered, how do I update them?
Please click here to log back in to your registration account and update your details. If you are struggling to log in, please click username & password in the top right corner to receive a password reminder or contact us with any further queries.
Please note any address changes need to be made before Sunday 21st July to ensure your race pack can be posted correctly.
When will I receive my event pack?
When your event pack (runner number, timing chip, baggage label and event information guide) is posted depends on when you registered but you should receive this at least 2 weeks ahead of event day.
If you haven't received this by Sunday 6th October, please contact us. You can also find important details on the event information pages of our website.
What should I do when I receive my event pack?
You should first check the contents of your event pack to make sure your runner number and timing chip number are identical. If they are different, please call us immediately on 0113 8267767 or email us.
You should complete the runner information on the reverse of your runner number and read the event information guide carefully; this contains all the information you need and is designed to make your day as enjoyable as possible. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any queries and keep your event pack safe so you can find it easily on the morning of the event.
Do I need to register on the day?
No, runners with their timing chip and runner number do not need to register on the day. The race office will be open two hours before the event and throughout the day for any queries or for any runners needing to collect their event pack.
I have registered but am no longer able to take part; can I transfer or get a refund?
Entries cannot be assigned, transferred or sold to any third party and is therefore strictly prohibited. If you are no longer able to take part, please refer to the entry terms and conditions. If you are struggling or have any further queries, please call us on 0113 8267767 or email us.
Can I give my runner number to someone else?
No. Entries are non-transferable between third parties due to health and safety reasons and all participants must be registered in their own right in order to participate in an event. Any runner, who is found to have participated in the event under a transferred entry, will be immediately disqualified from the event. Where can I leave my baggage whilst I am taking part?
There will be baggage stores available on event day. Please refer to your event information guide and the start/finish map for information as to where this will be located.
What will I receive when I cross the finish line?
All finishers will receive a tech t-shirt and medal unique to the event as well as an event goody bag. Water and energy drinks will also be available at the finish.
Where can I find my official race time?
Race results will be available online immediately upon completion of the event, please check the results section. If you entered a mobile phone number when you registered you will also receive a congratulatory text message detailing your finish time.
*Please note you must be wearing your timing chip correctly to receive an official time.
Where can I get official event photographs?
To view photos of yourself taking part in the event, please visit the results section. Photos should be available shortly after your event. Please note that unfortunately we cannot guarantee all runners will have a photo of themselves. Pictures are tagged by your runner number clearly shown on the cameras. If your race number was obscured in any way when running past the cameras, it will not register as you. If you cannot find a picture of yourself, there is an option of searching images by entering colours of clothing.
