Is there an age limit for taking part?

Participants in The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon must be 18 years or older on race day.

Is it ok to walk round the course?

Our events are intended 'For All' and we encourage participants of all abilities to get involved. The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon will have a 7-hour cut-off time for completion of the course.

Anyone deemed not able to finish the course within 7 hours will unfortunately be unable to continue on the course and a sweeper vehicle will be in operation.

Please let us know of any specific access requirements in order for us to make suitable arrangements ahead of the event. Email us using the contact us form.

Please be aware that if you are being escorted around the course, your escort must also be a registered participant in the event.

How can I raise money for charity?

The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon is proud to be partnered with ten charities both national and local to the event. Information about our partner charities and the great work they do can be found in the Partners section. Please contact the charity of your choice directly with any fundraising queries.

Can I take part in fancy dress?

Yes, our events are all about having fun and encouraging people to enjoy taking part in sporting events whether they are a regular club runner, completing a challenge or using it to raise money for charity. We welcome participants to use their imagination when it comes to fancy dress but please ensure your costume does not pose any danger or could be perceived as being offensive to other participants or spectators.

Fancy dress should not impede your capacity to complete the event within the 7 hour time limit.

Can I run with headphones?

Aftershokz is the official headphone provider of the Yorkshire Marathon Series. Aftershokz sits comfortably in front of the ear and use bone conduction to deliver sound through the cheekbones to your inner ear. This means you can enjoy your music and still hear everything around you, including marshal intructions, emergency vehicles and fellow competitors. Marathon Series participants can benefit from a special discount - prior to your chosen event you will be sent an email containing the code to obtain this special offer.

When will I receive my event pack?

If you haven't received this a week before, please contact us. You can also find important details on the event information pages of our website.

What should I do when I receive my event pack?
