to teams of six and is a great way of boosting morale, promoting

Relay distances range from 2.5 to 6 miles - making the run both

The Plusnet Yorkshire MarathonThe Legacy starts right here and now's the chance to make
history in 2013. This new UK marathon will explode onto the streets
of York in the autumn and is set to become one of Yorkshire's
biggest charity runs in the sporting calendar.

Start: 9.30 am
With a consistently flat and extremely fast course - The
Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon highlights the very best of York and the
North Yorkshire countryside. You'll enter the city walls through
Walmgate Bar and enjoy the bustling atmosphere along Parliament
Street before passing through St. Helen's Square. Immerse
yourself in impressive architecture such as The Mansion House and
the famous Betty's tea rooms before catching your first glimpse of
the imposing York Minster. You'll leave the city walls via the
ornate Monk Bar and can speed on through mile upon mile of flat
landscape around the Vale of York and the pretty villages and towns
of North and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Yorkshire Ltd to cover event costs, with any profits going directly
to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. All entrants are encouraged to

Start/FinishThe University of York will welcome The Plusnet Yorkshire
Marathon as part of its 50th year celebrations, hosting the race
village as well as the start and finish. The Heslington Campus
boasts a range of modern facilities, alongside historic 16th
Century buildings, and will be the perfect host for the event
hub.
Travel to the event hub via our dedicated Plusnet
Yorkshire Marathon park and ride service to be greeted by our
enthusiastic event marshals and take advantage of our pre-event
facilities, including the baggage store. You'll then be guided
through the stunning campus to absorb the atmosphere at the start
on University Road.
You're sure to be cheered along the fantastic home straight back
along University Road to finish in triumph. Don't forget to "Do the Y" as you cross
the line! Passing through the finish area you'll collect water and
an energy drink to replenish and rehydrate, and your finisher's
goody bag to showcase your achievement and tell everyone "you
completed the big one!" The event hub will be buzzing with lots of
post-race facilities and is a great place to spend time celebrating
your achievement with friends and family. Learn about the great
work of our charity partners in the charity village, collect a
print out of your personal chip and split times or reward your
muscles with a post-event massage before heading home or taking
advantage of all the City of York has to offer.
The RouteA truly Yorkshire Marathon, it promises to showcase the
very best of the City of York and its surrounding
countryside.

Results & PhotographsRace results will be available online immediately upon
completion of the event. Participants entering a mobile phone
number when registering will also receive a congratulatory text
message detailing their finish time.
Personal chip time results including split timing from around
the route at the10K, half marathon and 30K marks will also be
available as print outs at the finish.
Marathon-photos hope to photograph every participant around the
course and as you celebrate your achievement at the finish. Be sure
to smile as you cross the finish line and visit our dedicated "Do The Y"
photo-podium for a snap with your finisher's medal. Event
photographs will be available to view and purchase online within 5
days of the event.
