Start/Finish

The University of York will welcome The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon as part of its 50th year celebrations, hosting the race village as well as the start and finish. The Heslington Campus boasts a range of modern facilities, alongside historic 16th Century buildings, and will be the perfect host for the event hub.

Travel to the event hub via our dedicated Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon park and ride service to be greeted by our enthusiastic event marshals and take advantage of our pre-event facilities, including the baggage store. You'll then be guided through the stunning campus to absorb the atmosphere at the start on University Road.

You're sure to be cheered along the fantastic home straight back along University Road to finish in triumph. Don't forget to "Do the Y" as you cross the line! Passing through the finish area you'll collect water and an energy drink to replenish and rehydrate, and your finisher's goody bag to showcase your achievement and tell everyone "you completed the big one!" The event hub will be buzzing with lots of post-race facilities and is a great place to spend time celebrating your achievement with friends and family. Learn about the great work of our charity partners in the charity village, collect a print out of your personal chip and split times or reward your muscles with a post-event massage before heading home or taking advantage of all the City of York has to offer.
